Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in metrology to ensure the highest standards in our precision machining environment. This role demands a dedicated individual with extensive quality control experience and advanced proficiency in metrology. Key Responsibilities: Material Receiving and Dispatching Inspection: Maintain an efficient system for inspecting incoming and outgoing materials. Compliance Verification: Ensure processed products meet specifications using advanced metrology techniques. Collaboration: Work closely with the store personnel on material receiving inspections. Expert Metrology Services: Provide ongoing metrology support for shop work, including setting up and using metrology equipment. Conformance Verification: Verify the conformance of incoming materials and products to specifications. In-Process Inspections: Conduct inspections during the manufacturing process and maintain accurate documentation. Non-Conformance Management: Isolate and manage non-conforming products and materials, supporting the disposition of non-conforming reports (NCRs). Final Inspections: Perform final inspections and document all quality control processes. Calibration Control: Maintain a register of tools and metrology equipment, ensuring all are properly calibrated. Data Maintenance: Assist in maintaining data and reporting on key quality performance indicators. Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits according to the Quality Management System. Health and Safety: Contribute to Health and Safety procedures and hazard identification initiatives. Quality Culture: Promote and support Quality policies and culture within the organization. Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as required.. Skills and Experience: Precision Machining Environment: Demonstrated experience in quality control and inspection within a precision machining environment. Metrology Proficiency: Proficiency in the use of metrology equipment and methods, including but not limited to: Micrometres Surface finish testers Height Gauges Verniers, callipers, and Gauge blocks Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Team Player: Ability to collaborate with team members and work independently as required. Detail-Oriented: High standards of work quality with meticulous attention to detail. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., GSS), Microsoft Office, CRM, and other relevant QMS software. Numeracy Skills: Strong numeracy skills for precise measurement and data interpretation. Excellent written and verbal English.
