We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support the delivery of the Public Safety Network (PSN). This is a significant project, building a modern, secure national digital Land Mobile Radio network for emergency services across New Zealand. Te Tūranga - The Rol e We are seeking a specialist in Operations Support Systems (OSS) tools, who will play a critical role in managing and maintain IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior ITSM Consultant and based in Christchurh, this role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of platform operating systems, database structure and management, OSS tools and a passion for maintaining and improving IT infrastructure This role will involve: Working closely with the Senior ITSM Consultant and Senior OSS/Tools Engineer to develop a pan business data structure for Operational tools and systems to support scalability. Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of OSS tools and related systems including underlying operating systems and databases. Ensure the availability, performance, and security of OSS tools and infrastructure. Monitoring and troubleshooting systems issues Planning and executing system upgrades, patches and updates to keep OSS tools current. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. To find out more about the role, download the full position description from our Careers site. Ō pūkenga - About You We are looking for an expert in various operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX etc), with 7+ years of systems administration experience and a proven track record of managing and supporting complex IT infrastructure. In addition, you will have: A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in developing scalable cross platform database structures. Expert experience with OSS tools and technologies. Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. N gā painga - what's in it for you?
