We are seeking an experienced Senior OSS / Tools Engineer to manage and optimise the operational support systems (OSS) and tools that ensure the smooth functioning of the Public Safety Network . This is a significant project, building a modern, secure national digital Land Mobile Radio network for emergency services across New Zealand. Te Tūranga - The Rol e Reporting to the Senior ITSM Consultant and based in Christchurch, this role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of telecommunications networks, and a passion for optimising operational systems. This role will involve: Overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of OSS tools and systems. Ensuring the integration of various telecom components and systems to support network operations. Ensure all network Elements (NE/CI) are delivering real-time SNMP traps into our geo-diverse Entuity Pollers , with the correct MIBs. Perform alarm correlation across all network elements and the network itself to minimise fault triage times and service restoration. Providing advanced technical support for OSS-related issues. Developing strategies to enhance system performance and reliability. Lead projects related to the deployment and upgrade of OSS tools and systems. Ō pūkenga - About You We are looking for someone with several years of experience in telecommunications and OSS management, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex telecom projects and leading technical teams. In addition, you will have: A bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications , or a related field. Advanced certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. Cisco, ITIL) Proficiency in OSS tools and software, such as network management systems and performance monitoring tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. N gā painga - what's in it for you?
